Peppermint
A modular
rollator.
Peppermint set out to make a mobility product people would choose, not tolerate: a rollator with a folding frame and swappable wheels, seat, backrest and grips. Engineering lead, with Prota Ventures.
What we did
Role: engineering lead on the program, working with Prota Ventures and the Peppermint founder, 2021 to 2022.
Product: a folding rollator frame that takes swappable modules. Mechanical architecture, the folding mechanism and the module interfaces.
Delivery: a functional proof of concept built by hand on site, from custom aluminium extrusions, 3D printing and metal fabrication: accurate in size and proportion, folding as designed, and used for design review as well as engineering validation. Shelved for funding before launch.
Working between: the founder, Prota's design team and fabrication suppliers.
