For startups and product companies
Building
a product.
From first concept to a product in production. One team through the whole thing, no handoff between design and engineering.
Who it's for
Hardware startups with funding or momentum, and product companies adding a new line. Consumer electronics, connected devices, tools, wearables, home and outdoor tech. You bring the idea. We bring the process that gets it built.
How it runs
-
01
Discovery
Architecture first. How the product works, where the electronics sit, what it will take to build, before anyone commits to a form.
You hold
An architecture, a feasibility read, and a plan for the stages after.
-
02
Definition
Industrial design, with engineering in the room. Form, materials and finish developed on the architecture, so the concept is already buildable when it's chosen.
You hold
A defined product you can put in front of investors and a manufacturer.
-
03
Development
Mechanical engineering, with design in the room. Detailed CAD, prototypes, DFM, test, with the designer still reviewing so nothing gets lost on the way to tooling.
You hold
Production-ready data, a BOM, and parts a supplier can quote.
-
04
Production
Supplier work, tooling, samples, first production run. Your manufacturer or one we introduce from our network. We stay on it as far as you need.
You hold
A product people can buy, and everything needed to make the next batch without us.
How we work with you
Simon leads every stage. A designer and an engineer are involved from early on and through to the end, with the balance shifting stage by stage. Specialists join when the work needs them. You make the calls.

Questions
Earlier than you think. Before the concept is fixed is cheapest. We also pick up projects mid-way.
Fixed fee or time and materials, whichever fits the project. Quoted stage by stage, or up front as a range for the whole thing.
Not in-house. We find the right partner and work closely with them.
Yes. We work with your CM, source one for you, or introduce you to ours.
Yes. We'll tell you honestly what needs to change to make it buildable, then do it.
Yes, design and engineering on several campaigns, including three of the most-funded hardware projects on the platform. We know what has to be true before you launch and what breaks after.
