Cana Technology
A molecular
beverage printer.
Cana built a countertop machine that “prints” drinks from concentrated ingredients in a cartridge. We worked on it as part of Spanner's engineering team, from a semi-finished prototype toward a manufacturable product.
What we did
Role: one of ten-plus engineers on the program, five or more from Spanner, for several months in 2021 to 2022.
Product: the mechanism that loads, positions and clamps the ingredient cartridge; the liquid dispensing path; enclosures, outer parts and the shell hinges; internal components.
Delivery: proof-of-concept through functional prototypes to mechanical systems designed for mass production, in stages. The fully functional prototype carried investor day, internal validation and press.
